Instalación construida a partir de hojas de rosa china en las que revelo retratos de mis antepasados mediante clorotipia, utilizando la energía del sol como agente de revelado. Las hojas provienen de un árbol plantado por mi abuela en el jardín de la casa familiar donde crecí.
Con estas hojas reconstruyo un árbol dentro del espacio expositivo. En las ramas superiores los retratos aparecen más claros y reconocibles; a medida que descienden se vuelven progresivamente más difusos.
En la base de la instalación, un cúmulo de hojas se acumula en el suelo, descomponiéndose lentamente hasta convertirse en el sustrato nutritivo de nuevas formas de vida.
Hoy ese árbol se está marchitando y la casa familiar donde crecí está a punto de ser demolida. Frente a la desaparición de estos espacios que sostienen la memoria, la obra se pregunta cómo mantener vivos esos vínculos cuando el lugar que los contiene comienza a desaparecer.

Installation constructed from hibiscus leaves on which I reveal portraits of my ancestors through chlorophyll printing, using sunlight as the developing agent. The leaves come from a tree planted by my grandmother in the garden of the house where I grew up.
Using these leaves, I reconstruct a tree within the exhibition space. In the upper branches, the portraits appear clearer and more recognizable; as they descend, they gradually become more diffuse.
At the base of the installation, a cluster of leaves accumulates on the floor, slowly decomposing and becoming a nourishing substrate for new forms of life.
Today, that tree is withering and the house where I grew up is about to be demolished. As these spaces that hold memory begin to disappear, the work asks how these bonds can be sustained when the place that contains them is no longer there.
