Esta serie fue realizada con imágenes de personas detenidas, torturadas y desaparecidas durante la última dictadura militar en Argentina, recolectando hojas de árboles que crecen sobre en la ex ESMA, el principal centro clandestino de detención, tortura y exterminio.
Las raíces de los árboles presentes en el predio absorbieron la energía del terror que se vivió, los árboles son testigos involuntarios y sus hojas contienen los residuos del horror: torturas, sangre, sudor, lágrimas y apropiación. Sin embargo, ante la luz del sol del presente es posible que sus hojas se transformen para devolverle el rostro a los desaparecidos, al copiar imágenes de estos en ellas, ya no serán hojas al viento. Se resignifican para no olvidar la historia y cobran nueva vida, con una lucha que hoy está vigente: Memoria, Verdad y Justicia. La elección de copiar 30 imágenes es un número que se vuelve simbólico, metáfora de los 30.000 desaparecidos.

This series was created using images of people detained, tortured, and disappeared during the last military dictatorship in Argentina. Leaves were collected from trees growing on the grounds of the former ESMA, the main clandestine center for detention, torture, and extermination.
The roots of the trees on the site absorbed the energy of the terror experienced there. The trees are unwitting witnesses, and their leaves hold the remnants of horror: torture, blood, sweat, tears, and appropriation. However, in the sunlight of the present, their leaves may be transformed to give back the faces of the disappeared. By copying images of them onto the leaves, they will no longer be leaves in the wind. They are given new meaning so that history is not forgotten, and they take on a new life, embodying a struggle that remains relevant today: Memory, Truth, and Justice. The choice to copy 30 images is a number that becomes symbolic, a metaphor for the 30,000 disappeared.

La madrugada del 15 de julio de 1976, un grupo de militares irrumpió en la casa de la familia Tarnopolsky. Se llevaron a Hugo y a Blanca, padres de tres hijos. Después, con Hugo amenazado a punta de pistola, secuestraron a Betina, la hija menor, que estaba durmiendo en lo de la abuela. Ya tenían con ellos a Sergio Tarnopolsky, el mayor de los hijos, detenido en la misma Esma, donde estaba haciendo la conscripción. El único sobreviviente fue Daniel Tarnopolsky. Tenía 18 años y en una noche había perdido a toda su familia.

Then, with Hugo at gunpoint, they kidnapped Betina, the youngest daughter, who was sleeping at her grandmother's house. They already had Sergio Tarnopolsky, the eldest son, with them; he had been detained at the same ESMA (Navy Mechanics School), where he was doing his mandatory military service.
